SREE KANTEERAVA STADIUM
SREE KANTEERAVA INDOOR STADIUM
Kanteerava Indoor Stadium, also known as the Sree or Sri Kanteerava Indoor Stadium, is an indoor sporting arena located within the heart of city Bengaluru. The capacity of the arena is 4,000 people. The design uses an elliptical dome.
The Stadium hosted the SABA Championship in 2015 and 2016. India's national basketball team won the gold medal on both occasions. Further, Team India has frequently used the facility for training sessions. There are 8 entrances to the stadium, of which five are for public, one for the VIPs, one for stadium officials and one for players.
SREE KANTEERAVA OUTDOOR STADIUM
The Sree Kanteerava Outdoor Stadium, formerly known as the Sampangi Stadium, was opened in 1946. It is a multi-purpose stadium. It has a running track, a football field, a volleyball court and two outdoor rock climbing walls. The stadium is owned by the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, Government of Karnataka.
It is the largest sporting complex in Bengaluru. The central arena of the stadium consists of an 8-lane 400-metre synthetic athletic track, along with synthetic surfaced areas for field events like long jump, high jump, triple jump and pole vault. The arena also comprises a football field 100 m x 68 m in size.
Sree Kanteerava Indoor and Outdoor Stadium would be hosting Athletics and Basketball during the Khelo India University Games, 2021.
